US Wings is excited to introduce our Cooper Original Antique Striated Lambskin Indy-style Jacket! This limited edition jacket features a shell made from the finest striated lambskin available (“striated” lambskin is lambskin that’s been hand-stretched to achieve its unique striated appearance). It’s also antiqued to give it that subtle vintage look and designed to age rapidly as you wear it! In fact, you really must see this jacket to fully appreciate just how supple and luxurious the leather is! The jacket is hand-aged to achieve its distinctive antiqued finish, resulting in subtle color variations throughout, so no two jackets will look exactly alike. The lambskin we use is quite substantial too, unlike the thin lambskin found in “fashion” leather jackets; it’s the kind of lambskin worthy of an adventure jacket!
All the classic Indy-style jacket features are here, including two front cargo pockets with side-entry handwarmers, an interior pocket, a windflap over an antique brass zipper, pleated back panel for freedom of movement, side-adjustment straps, plain cuffs & bottom, and a nylon lining. A Brief History: Cooper Sportswear was founded in the early 1920s and was awarded Contract No. W535ac23381 on January 5, 1942 to produce A-2 jackets for the USAAF during WWII. In the modern age, Cooper Sportswear continued to produce very popular & sought after garments like the A-2, G-1 & Indy jackets for the civilian market. US Wings partnered with Cooper for many years, starting in 1986 and ending when Cooper Sportswear ceased production in the 1990s.
