History
The new Cooper Original by US Wings A-2 is now available. Cooper Sportswear was founded in the early 1920s and was awarded Contract No. W535ac23381 on January 5, 1942 to produce A-2 jackets for the USAAF during WWII. These jackets are now extremely rare and original Cooper-labeled A-2s are considered highly collectible by WWII & A-2 jacket enthusiasts.
A-2
Back by popular demand! One of the staple jackets of the original Cooper Sportswear line was the Cooper Sportswear Goatskin A-2, so naturally we had to re-introduce this classic leather flight jacket! Our US Wings Cooper Original Goatskin A-2 is an authentic reproduction of the venerable Cooper A-2. We’ve included all the authentic details of the original, like the side-entry handwarmer pockets (a hugely popular & practical addition to Cooper’s civilian A-2s that was not present on military A-2s of the time). The jacket is handcrafted from the finest mil spec goatskin available and features two front cargo pockets (with the aforementioned side-entry handwarmers), snap-down collar, epaulets, an interior pocket, nylon lining, brass zipper, and knit cuffs & waistband.
The A-2 is arguably the most popular jacket to come out of WWII and its continued popularity today, more than 90 years after it was first adopted by the USAAC in 1931, is proof of this jacket’s timelessness. Our Cooper Original Goatskin A-2 carries on that tradition of timeless style for the current and future generations of flight jacket enthusiasts. For a limited time, we’re offering this jacket at an introductory sale price starting at just $245!
