History of Indy- Style Jackets
Leather jackets have been used by adventurers since the early 1900’s. First introduced in the “Raiders of the Lost Ark“, this jacket has become the iconic symbol of Indiana Jones. The first installment in the Indiana Jones franchise, the film stars Harrison Ford as archaeologist Indiana Jones, who battles a group of Nazis searching for the Ark of the Covenant. Most noteworthy, Sgt Hack’s original partner, Neil Cooper created the exact pattern for the jacket in this movie. Consequently, when Neil Cooper stopped making these jackets, US Wings carried on the tradition with their Indy-style Jacket the Legend.
Cooper subsequently created the pattern for the second installment Temple of Doom. Following the success of the Legend jacket, US Wings created the Adventurer jacket, hence continuing the lineage of movie inspired jackets. The Indiana Jones character, due to his immense popularity continued in two subsequent films.
