We first produced a “striated” lambskin jacket back in 1985 but this type of jacket has been absent from our current line for quite some time. Our Cooper Original™ Striated Antique Lambskin Leather Jacket starts with the finest Italian lambskins, which are hand-stretched to achieve its unique striated appearance. This results in a wonderfully “grainy” and rugged-looking jacket (and no two jackets will look exactly alike).
We are proud to introduce our Cooper Original by US Wings™ jackets. Cooper Sportswear was founded in the early1920s. It was awarded Contract No. W535ac23381 on January 5, 1942 to produce A-2 jackets for the USAAF during WWII. These jackets are now extremely rare and original Cooper-labeled A-2s are considered highly collectible by WWII & A-2 jacket enthusiasts.
In the modern age, Cooper continued to produce very popular & sought after garments like the A-2, G-1 & Indy jackets for the civilian market. US Wings partnered with Cooper for many years, starting in 1986 and ending when Cooper Sportswear ceased production in the 1990s; their jackets have been unavailable to the general public ever since. We have received numerous inquiries & requests for Cooper jackets over the years, so we’ve decided to reintroduce these outstanding jackets in our Cooper Original line, all based on the Cooper original™ patterns.
The Cooper Original™ Striated Lambskin Jacket features:
- Striated Antique Italian Lambskin Leather
- Two front cargo pockets
- Side-entry hand-warmers
- Pleated action back for freedom of movement
- Side adjustment straps
- A interior pocket
- Polyfill nylon lining

The leather on this is very soft, however the sizing is not quite right. I have an XL vintage cowhide Indy style jacket (SKU#IJVINC) that fits perfectly, but the XL of this was far to small, and the exchanged 2XL version was still not a comfortable fit in the shoulders, as well as the fact that the 2XL I received in exchange also had a defective zipper that would not close so I have to return it as well. I suppose that wherever this one is made just has poor QC (there is no tag that says where it was made), as the US made vintage cowhide Indy style I’ve had for several years is basically perfect. Just a little disappointing considering the cost and the long wait time I had.

Sir
Thank you for your feedback. This jacket is the first jacket in which we have included a poly fill lining. I believe we did not take into account that it would change the sizing. The sizing was based on our current Indy style patterns that don’t have a poly fill lining. We are going to check each jacket and resize them. In regards to the zipper, due to the nature of a brass zipper having to break in, it is necessary sometimes to apply candle wax which will help it break in.

Thanks to your input we discovered that because of the lining all of our sizes for our striated lamb Indy jackets were incorrect. We have gone back and corrected the sizing on all jackets. Basically a Large was a medium, A Xl was a large etc.. All have been corrected.
Thanks again for identifying a problem we didn’t know existed.
Regards,
Bob
